Our mission in sustainability

We are committed to caring for our planet by integrating sustainable practices throughout our work.

145 million tons of demolition and construction debris goes into our landfills ever year! We have to start looking at design differently if we’re going to change that.

At Burgundy Branch Design, we prioritize using the existing architecture and implementing second-hand or upcycled materials and furnishings into our projects whenever possible.

We partner with vendors who share our values, including B-Corps, those using recycled materials, and those prioritizing low-emission packaging.

Our goal is to create beautiful, functional spaces while protecting the planet. This may set us apart from other design firms that would rather focus on luxury and over-the-top designs but we believe that both are achievable and necessary for better living.

How does sustainability impact our projects?

  • Two hands holding dark soil with a small green fern leaf in an outdoor natural setting.

    Aligned Partnerships

We work with companies that share our values of sustainability, ethical practices, and social responsibility. Our clients can feel confident supporting these companies.

  • A vintage black clock with Roman numerals and gold hands shows the time as 4:23, mounted on a blue-green wall. To the right, a modern wall sconce with a gold base and clear glass shade is lit. Below the clock, on a wooden shelf, there is a decorative ceramic vase with a drip glaze in shades of brown and gray. Part of an upholstered chair with a floral and script pattern on light fabric and a dark wooden frame is visible at the bottom.

    Reuse & Recycle

We implement existing architecture, fixtures, and furnishings in our projects whenever possible. This approach not only reduces construction waste and keeps materials out of landfills, but also helps our clients save on costs.

    Sustainable Sourcing

We’re experts at sourcing furnishings and materials that are made ethically and sustainably. Giving our clients the added benefit of supporting sustainability without the research.

    Eco-Packaging

We prioritize partners who make eco-conscious packaging a priority. This small but impactful decision aligns with our commitment to protect the planet and shrink a project’s carbon footprint.
